Youth Group Leader

Interacts with youth at all grade levels during weekly youth night. Plans and directs games and activities, interacts with youth during mealtime, joins in worship, helps with organizing and facilitating evening events. 

Commitment: 1-3 hours/week

Small Group Leader

Interacts with a group of 6-8 youth at a single grade level during weekly youth night.  Leads discussions of the evening's message, prayer and sharing, and social interaction.  This position also involves keeping in touch with the students in the small group during the week, including sending notes, attending sporting events, etc.

Commitment: 3-5 hours/week

Youth Group Meal Parent

Works in a team environment to prepare and serve a fixed menu dinner for youth group attendees on a monthly basis.

Confirmation Assistant

Assists the Youth Director in managing and teaching the confirmation program. Assists in weekly teaching and attending retreats and field trips. The Confirmation Assistant also participates during the confirmation ceremony.

Prepares and presents a weekly Bible-based lesson for Middle School and Senior High students during the Sunday school hour.

Senior High/Middle School Sunday School Helper

Assists the Sunday School teacher and Director of Youth Ministry during the Sunday school hour.  Opportunities to teach the class (if desired) on a rotating basis, or as a substitute.

Commitment: One hour per week

Summer Trip Volunteer

Participates in the youth summer trip as an adult supervisor.  Includes participation in training, preparation meetings, and traveling with the group on a week-long trip.

Retreat Chaperone

Provides adult supervision for a group of 5-10 middle school and/or high school students during weekend retreats. Responsible for driving and participating in the overnight retreat utilizing prepared activities and discussion materials.

Identifies and organizes lesson plans for a children's worship service and provides them in advance for volunteers on a weekly basis.  Recruits 2-4 volunteers for each Sunday morning service.  Leads once to twice a month.

Cross Training Workshop Coach (Teacher)

Uses curriculum provided to teach a workshop during Sunday School Hour in any of the following areas: Drama, Storytelling, Puppets, Science, Cooking, Music, Art, Crafting, etc. One lesson is prepared every four weeks and taught 4 times throughout the rotation (once each week) to Kindergarten, Grades 1/2, Grades 3/4, Grades 5/6. Leader can sign up for a workshop that speaks to their interests and talents and be done after 4 weeks, or sign up to teach throughout an entire school year. Prep for workshops are done in coordination with Children's Ministry Director.

Cross Training Trainer

Serves as a shepherd of a grade level of choice and is responsible for taking attendance, handing out name tags, helping with check-out and participating in the morning's opening and activities during the Sunday School hour. Serves to build relationships with kids and assist them in each workshop. Assists the Coach as needed in workshop. Serves with a team of at least one other person for that grade level in case of needed absences.

Commitment: 9 months/school year in a team coverage format.

Cross Training Greeter/Welcome Center

Responsible for manning the check-in tablet and greeting children and families as they come to the Sunday School Hour. Assist new families in filling out our brief registration form and turning those in to the Director of Children's Ministries.
