Q: May I receive Holy Communion at your church even though I am not United Methodist?
A: We celebrate an “open table,” meaning that everyone who loves Jesus Christ is welcome.
Q: How do I get involved?

A: Visitors are always welcome to attend worship and educational and fellowship activities. If you have questions about United Methodist beliefs, what goes on here at Saline 1st UMC, or would like to discuss with someone about how you can get involved, please contact the church office (429-4730) or by email

New Member Classes—Membership in this congregation is not required to participate in most activities or to take communion (we celebrate an open table); however, becoming a member can be a significant step in one’s faith walk and is encouraged for all adults, as well as youth who have already been confirmed in another congregation. New Member Classes discuss such topics as: what it means to be a Christian, United Methodist beliefs, church history, the United Methodist Church, and this specific congregation. For dates, please contact the church office. If you have not been baptized, this will be incorporated into the new member process. Questions? Please contact Jthe church office (429-4730) or by email

Q: I would like my child baptized/I would like to be baptized. With whom should I speak?
A: Baptisms are generally celebrated on the third Sunday of each month. Please call the church office and speak to our Administratrative Assistant, Pilar Graden, to set up an appointment to speak with the pastor and to be put on the schedule. Any age person, including infants, are welcome and encouraged to be baptized.
