Shawl Ministry
The Shawl Ministry is a prayerful ministry in which shawls are created to celebrate a happy event or as a comfort for someone enduring a difficult time in their life. The end-result serves as warm reminder that the recipient is wrapped in God’s love and care. If you are a knitter or crocheter, come join us! Call the church office for current meeting times. If you have yarn sitting around at home whose purpose has been forgotten, donations of worsted weight yarn are gratefully accepted. Contact the church office if you know of someone you would like to give a shawl to, we have shawls already made for you to give.
Prayers and Squares Quilt Group
This group meets on Wednesdays at 12:30 pm in Room F. The goal is to combine the gift of prayer with the gift of a hand-tied quilt for those with serious health issues from this church family.
Each Knot is "tied" to a prayer
The concept is simple. The ends of "ties" that run through the layers of the quilt are left free to be tied with a square knot. As a knot is tied, a silent prayer is offered for the recipient. The prayer quilt is then given in love to that person.
