How Can We Help?

"For I know the plans I have for you, " declares the Lord,

"plans to prosper you and not to harm you,

plans to give you hope and a future."

Jeremiah 29:11

Everyone matters to God.  He gives us one another to encourage and support us through life circumstances.  We are here to help or just listen when you face trials, and we will celebrate your "mountain-top" joys with you as well.

PRAYER

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

FUMC Saline is a praying church. That’s not just something we say—it’s an integral part of who we are and what we do! We believe God responds to prayer and invites us to be in a prayer relationship with Him.

Our Prayer Team will pray for you during times of need and also praise the Lord with you during times of celebration.  All prayers are kept confidential except when you specifically request that they be shared with the congregation.  Prayer Requests may be submitted on the Connect Card in the Sunday bulletin.  You may also submit your request online.

STEPHEN MINISTRY

Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way
you will fulfill the law of Christ.

Galatians 6:2

What is a Stephen Minister?

Stephen Ministers are  congregation members trained to provide one-to-one care to those experiencing a difficult time in life, such as grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, or relocation.  Stephen Ministers are here to listen to, care for and walk with you through any situation where you need support.

Stephen Ministers come from all walks of life, but they all share a passion for bringing Christ’s love and care to people during a time of need.

If you are in need of or are interested in this kind of support, please contact the church office at (734) 429-4730 or submit your request via the link below.

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

1 Peter 4:10

United Women in Faith have a rich tradition of serving those in need.  Their Loving Hands Ministry coordinates funeral luncheons at the church and will provide meals in times of need.

NAMI FAITHNET

I have said these things to you,

that in me you may have peace.

In the world you will have tribulation.

But take heart; I have overcome the world.

John 16:33

What is a NAMI FaithNet?

NAMI FaithNet is an interfaith resource network of NAMI members, friends, clergy and congregations of all faith traditions who wish to encourage faith communities who are welcoming and supportive of persons and families living with mental illness.

FUMC Saline believes this is a vital ministry for our congregation and community.  If you are in search of support for yourself, family or friends dealing with mental health issues, we invite you to get connected with this group.  There are two ways to participate.  On the second Tuesday of the month the meeting is via Zoom from 7:00-8:30 pm.  On the fourth Tuesday of the month, join us via Zoom or in person from 7:30-9:00 pm.  The in person group meets in Room A.  Contact the church office at (734) 429-4730 for a Zoom invitation.
